This is where I was in 1997 with 6 and 2 meters - on top of 4300
foot Elk Rock (still in CN86) while helping with communications for
the Tour de Blast bicycle ride. This ride has almost 1000 riders, and
goes from 450 feet above sea level to almost 4000 feet high, with
views of Mt. St. Helens along the way.
Along with the amateur equipment, I had
a UHF repeater on the hill for event
communications.  This was the only link
from the ride's start to the finish.
