jams available in the greater Tucson/Southern Arizona area. CD's of their stuff are available on their site.
Tucson Friends of Traditional Music (TFTM) is dedicated to keeping the traditions of community music and dance alive and growing
in Tucson. TFTM sponsors and promotes concerts, dances, workshops, and informal music sessions. Through these activities and
a newsletter publication, TFTM builds awareness, educates, and fosters diversity in music and dance in the Tucson community.
The Arizona Old Time Fiddlers Association is a non-profit organization whose objective is to preserve, promote and perpetuate
the art of old time fiddling, to encourage all people, young and old, to develop their musical talents and afford them opportunities
to perform in public, to hold jam sessions and other musical events, for the members own enjoyment and to educate the public
on the values of old time fiddling. And to brighten and improve the lives of "shut-ins" and other needy people, by furnishing
musical entertainment and performing other charitable, civic and community services.
DKMusic Studio
David Kaemmer runs a full time private music studio in Southwest AZ. He has been teaching fiddle and violin since the fall
of 2000 when he spent a semester teaching the fiddle program at Vanderbilt University. He teaches fiddle/violin, guitar and
upright bass.
We are an organization of like-minded people with the common goal of helping to promote the enjoyment of folk music in Southern
Arizona, whether that be listening to, or playing. The festival is supported in part by the Arizona Commission on the Arts,
Arizona ArtShare and the Tucson-Pima Arts Council. The highlight of our year is the Annual Tucson Folk Festival, held in downtown
Tucson, the first weekend in May.
